Spiritual Care
Chaplains at Dana-Farber and Brigham and Women’s offer religious and/or spiritual support 24 hours a day and serve as a source of strength and comfort for many patients during treatment. Our chaplains support many different faiths (including Interfaith, Buddhist, Jewish, Islamic, Roman Catholic, and Protestant) and can meet with you before, during, and after treatment.
Dana-Farber’s chapel is located on the second floor of the Yawkey Center for Cancer Care; 617-632-3908. The chapel at Brigham and Women’s is located in the hospital’s main lobby and hosts an interfaith service every day at noon; 617-732-7480.
Clinical Social Worker
You will meet with a clinical social worker during the planning and evaluation stage. You can meet with a clinical social worker again at any time during the treatment process. Clinical social workers provide emotional support and counseling to patients, couples, and family members. They can also answer resource questions and help you and your family cope with concerns or issues that may arise during your illness and treatment, including feelings of sadness, anger, isolation, and helplessness, as well as other family issues.
