Your Care Team

Many people will be involved in your care. Some are listed below. Depending on your needs, there may be other people involved in your care, and many work behind the scenes to ensure your quality care.
  • CAR T physician: Directs and oversees your medical care
  • Advanced practice provider: A nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) who works closely with your physician in managing your care
  • CAR T nurse navigator: Key clinical contact who provides education about the CAR T treatment process, the caregiver role, and other medical questions. Key contact with your local oncologist/care team before and after treatment.
  • Clinical coordinator: Schedules your preparative testing and can answer non-clinical questions
  • Financial counselor: The link between you and your insurance company, helping you understand your health insurance coverage and financial responsibilities for this therapy
  • Clinical social worker: Provides counseling and emotional support to you and your family and can discuss community resources
  • Resource specialist; Helps identify short-term accommodations (if needed), transportation options, address parking concerns, and help with referrals to community-based programs
